We live in Yorba Linda, and our front entry was a mess. In summer, opening the door meant letting in heat and bugs. In winter, like right now with this mild 60-70 degree weather, I wanted fresh air but didn't want to leave the door wide open.
Got Apollo power shade and a retractable entry screen installed. Not gonna lie, I thought it was overkill at first. My wife kept saying we needed it. I kept putting it off.
Should've listened to her sooner.

The power shade keeps the sun off our entry during the day. One button, and it's down. Our tile floor doesn't get scorching hot anymore. And with those storms we got on New Year's, it kept the rain from blowing into the entryway.
The retractable screen is the real winner though. I can leave my front door open now and get that nice breeze without mosquitoes flying in. Or neighbors seeing straight into my living room.
My dog sits by the door now watching the neighborhood. Never used to do that because I'd have to close the door.
My wife opens the house up in the mornings. Says it feels nicer.
The kids' friends don't track in as much dirt because we're not constantly opening and closing the solid door.
Little things. But they add up.

Is it fancy? Does it work? Yeah, actually really well.
The power shade looks clean. The screen disappears when you don't need it. Both were easier to use than I expected.
If your entry is a pain point—too hot, too exposed, bugs getting in—this combo helps. That's all I got. It made our front door usable again instead of something we avoided dealing with.
